Re: anon - Why the Devil Tempts Us
In one of our Rosary meditations for my household, there’s a line that says, “your struggles come from one who knows all you are meant to be, and fears you.”
This line is very applicable to temptation as well, because temptation is meant to lead us astray from the path the Lord has set.
Kayla was very correct - the devil hates us, and he hates us because we have power.
Satan knows we are powerful beyond measure as long as we follow God and what He wills. Satan wants to distract us in order to gain our power for himself.
If we reject God’s most perfect will and plan for our lives, we become selfish and self-seeking - two qualities the devil himself possesses. He seeks to cloud our judgment and keep us from Truth, Love, Happiness and Grace.
This isn’t very in depth, but I hope it builds on Kayla’s answer to you, anon.
Grace be with you.
